Castel del Monte is far 16 km from Andria (Bari). Mysteries and legends are tied up to it. Castel Del Monte is an important destination for million of tourists.


A legend sais that the Castle of this wonderful town was created with the drawn money from the sale of the gold that was found by some inhabitants of the place.


The castle was built by Federico II in 1229

The castle has an original octagonal planimetry and eight octagonal towers. There are two floors, with eight rooms on the ground floor and eight on the first floor. Its garden is octagonal with an octagonal fountain.
